Jim Leverett's photography: 9 pix from 2019 calendar

This page is one of the few places online to find the photography of Jim Leverett (1927-2018), who lived a rich life and documented much of it with excellent photography. The Flickr site is below. Most of the other photographs are in storage, and this is a shame, because seeing the light of day, these days, means being uploaded in some form or another.

I always asked him if he wanted a book made of his photography, and he was ambivalent. I think he didn't want me to do all the work of organizing, etc., when he was so ambivalent about commercialization in general. But to me it's not about commercialization; it's more about preserving his excellent sense of composition and his careful recording of important moments.

For that reason, the book project is still alive. It is somewhat dormant, as I've been busy, but I haven't let go of it yet.
